Parking Information (Gateshead Exam Centre)

  • Limited, dedicated free parking spaces available in front of the building. Please note you need to park in the bays marked as “RESERVED FOR VITSPRO” at the front of the building. Parking in the bays of other offices is strictly prohibited and might lead to penalty charges. Reserved parking spaces are filled on first come first serve basis, if reserved bays are filled please park in the free parking spaces available on the surrounding roads or in Metrocentre's car parking.

    • Directions to Free Parking:

    You may also find a lots of roadside parking spaces in the surrounding roads.
    • Road side parking available on Delta Bank Road. After entering the Metro Riverside Park via Delta Bank Road  please take the right turn at the roundabout, you will see road side parking on the right side of the delta bank road.
    • Road side parking also available at the end of Watermark Road, accessed by taking the left turn at the roundabout at the Delta Bank Road. Follow the Watermark Road until you reach Café. After Café you will see a long road side parking on the left.

    VITSPRO- Exam Centre

    VITSPRO is just 8 minutes’ walk away from Metrocentre Train Station and Transport Interchange.

    Travelling to Metrocentre is easy with almost 10,000 free car parking spaces, a bus depot, a train station and a coach park.

    From the Metrocentre, you will cross a linking bridge and follow the walking directions from Metrocentre Interchange & Train Station to VITSPRO.

    By Train - to Metrocentre

    Metrocentre, is on the national rail network and has its own train station. It takes just 7 minutes by train from Newcastle Central Station with trains during the day every 15 minutes, less frequently during evenings and on Sundays. Frequent services are available from Newcastle, Sunderland, Teesside, County Durham and stations along the Tyne Valley Line to Carlisle. MetroCentre (MCE) train station is just 8 minutes’ walk away from our test centre. From the train station you will cross a linking bridge and follow the walking directions from Metrocentre Interchange & Train Station to VITSPRO.

    By Metro - to Metrocentre

    The Metro system is a short bus ride away from both Newcastle and Gateshead centres via Monument, Central and Gateshead Metro stations. A transfare ticket on the Metro system will allow transfer to any bus to complete your journey to Metrocentre.

    By Bus - to Metrocentre

    Over 100 buses an hour arrive at Metrocentre’s Public Transport Interchange from across the North East. Operators include Nexus, Go North East, Stagecoach and Arriva.
    The CentreLink Service X66 operates from Gateshead Metro Interchange every 7 – 8 minutes during the day, every 10 minutes weekday evenings and every 15 minutes weekend evenings.
    Metrocentre Shuttle 100 travels from Newcastle City Centre regularly throughout the day and takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the Metrocentre. There is a service every 8 minutes during the day, every 12-15 minutes during evenings and every 12 minutes on Sunday from Newcastle Monument and Central Station.
    GoNorthEast Bus Nos 10, 47, X45 operate from: Newcastle Central Station, Neville St (Outside Central Station) to Metrocentre Interchange- Opposite Rail Station)
    There is also a Metrocentre circular bus service, which calls at all four mall entrances, also calling at the nearby Metro Retail Park, Gala Bingo, Asda and Ikea.
    From the Metrocentre, you will cross a linking bridge and follow the walking directions from Metrocentre Interchange & Train Station to VITSPRO.

    • From Metrocentre Interchange / Train station Walk north.
    • Take the stairs and cross the linking bridge..
    • At the roundabout, turn left and take 2nd exit onto Riverside Way/A1114.
    • Turn right onto Delta Bank Rd.
    • At the roundabout, turn left and take the 1st exit onto The Watermark.
    • Take the first left and VITSPRO will be on the right side.

    Directions from Derwenthaugh Bridge Approach, Gateshead NE11 9XU (Bus Stop) to VITSPRO

    • Walk north-west on Scotswood View.
    • Slight right to stay on Scotswood View.
    • At the roundabout, turn right and take the 1st exit onto Riverside Way/A1114.
    • Turn left onto Delta Bank Rd.
    • At the roundabout, turn left and take the 1st exit onto The Watermark.
    • Take the first left and VITSPRO will be on the right side.
